DO MORE WITH LESS
THE XC SPEED DEMON
Like you, we love all-mountain-style events like the Downieville Classic, BC Bike Race, trans-whateveria, etc., where descending prowess and climbing efficiency share equal value on the podium steps. The SID build ushers the Following into this world, with components and geometry optimized for the grindhouse climbs and white-knuckle descents of race day.
We chose a feathery SID Ultimate fork and the latest SID shock to smooth out the track, with a twist-grip full frame lockout for the home stretch sprints on the XX model. Shaving just 10mm off the fork from its Following LS cousin tips the geometry needle towards nimble efficiency, while maintaining composure on modern XC gnar. The XX kit is the choice of World Cup racers, where acceleration, cadence control and efficiency are king, while the SID GX spec maintains a more lightweight adventure vibe.
MAXIMUM CONTROL
On the trail, a pair of Level Ultimate four-piston brakes guarantee Evil level control perched above a svelte carbon bar and shorty stem. Why four-pistons for XC? Because more control IS more speed. When a bike packs the braking traction of the Following, you quickly learn that a trimmed braking zone is more valuable on race day than trimming the bike’s weight by another few grams. More stopping power = you get to ride faster.
To further featherize the SID build and add snap to your attack, we’re offering some of Industry Nine’s lightest carbon wheels as an upgrade. The frames for XX builds are on dietary restriction, clad with minimalist rubber armor in the name of ascending speed, and the build is capped off with a WTB Silverado saddle, all gussied up in carbon-rail trim. Our GX build retains the slightly burlier saddle, longer dropper travel, and the full-frame armor that's found on our Following LS.
FOLLOW NO ONE.
This bike kicked off the shred-trail 29er movement, and we haven’t hit the mute button on loud, fast, and fun times. We need to let the volume roar and this bike needs to claw after every extra-credit popportunity. Oh, and it drifts uphill too.
Riding is far better than wrenching, and our engineers aim to reduce your garage time. We’ve heard the battle cries over trunnion shock spacers and responded by capturing them in the linkage, so you no longer have to fiddle and fumble when installing shocks. To polish this shiny knife, Evil will offer lifetime bearing warranty for Following LS frames. Original owners can register their bikes on the Evil website. See our warranty site for more details to keep those pivots silky smooth.
While updating the Following LS, we’ve maintained what makes it so special: lightning handling, shameless pop, and that uncanny ability to be there before you’ve decided to go there. We ratcheted that die-hard XC determination with an over-the-pedals 77° seat tube angle. It’ll climb, and climb, and climb. Then, just like the Following we love, it’s first to the beer cooler at the bottom. Always.

What is the warranty on my bike? Limited Lifetime Warranty information can be found here: https://www.evil-bikes.com/pages/warranty-policy
How do I adjust my Flip Chips? Remove upper and lower bone link bolts on each side, then remove the 3 flip chip bolts from each side. Flip your Chips 180deg on a horizontal axis. The desired position is noted on the upward facet. The Flip Chip position will be visible when sitting on the bike and should read Low/X-Low depending on model.
What is the paint code on my bike? Foam Roller - Pantone 566C or Black - Matte Clear Coat Pantone Black C
DRIVETRAIN
Which bottom bracket (BB) standard does my bike utilize? It utilizes a threaded BSA 73mm bottom bracket. We recommend pairing your BB & crankset brands, to assure compatibility.
My chainring is slightly off-center in the upper guide.- If the chainring is too far inboard, try adding one drive side BB spacer.
- If the chainring is too far outboard, try removing one drive side BB spacer and placing that on the non-drive side.
- If neither of these solutions address the issue, your cranks, or chainring may not accommodate the appropriate chainline.
What crankset spacing does my bike require? It requires a SuperBoost crankset w/ 56.5 mm chain line. We spec a 3mm offset Chainring with SuperBoost+ width Cranksets for most cranksets. Boost cranksets cannot be modified to work with this frame.
What are my allowable chainring sizes? Round: 30-36t / Oval: 32-34t
Does my bike accommodate a 2x drivetrain? No. It has an integrated 1x upper chain guide.
Will my bike accept an aftermarket chain guide? Yes. Custom ISCG05 tabs to accommodate aftermarket lower chain guides & bash guards.
What derailleur hanger does my bike use? SRAM UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger).
WHEELS
What is my bike's rear axle spacing? SuperBoost (12x157mm) rear spacing.
What size wheels & tires does my bike fit? It's designed to accommodate 29" wheels with (up to) 2.6" tires. Front tire clearance is dependent on your fork manufacturer's specifications.
